1. The companies of international participation, registered in Bulgaria (regardless of the share of international participation) may acquire ownership right over buildings, land and limited substantive right over real estate (right to use, building right, right to superstructure, extension and servitude).

2. If the international entity is: (a legal entity, which is not registered in Bulgaria, a company, which is not a legal entity and is registered abroad, a physical entity, a foreign national). Such entity may acquire ownership right over buildings and limited substantive right over real estate. The above-mentioned international entities, including through their branch- or sole trader companies registered in Bulgaria, may not acquire ownership over land.

3. The companies of international participation registered in Bulgaria and the international entities mentioned in the foregoing I. 2, need to obtain the permission of the Bulgarian Council of Ministers in order to acquire ownership right and other substantive rights over real estate in frontier areas and other national-security related territories.
